#WheresTQRhino at Black Hat USA

POSTED BY THREATQ

In a few days, security professionals from all over the globe will travel to Las Vegas for what is known in the industry as “Hacker Summer Camp”: Black Hat USA and DEF CON.  With last year’s event attracting a record-breaking number of attendees, Black Hat conference organizers are prepared for over 17,000 attendees next week.

As the conference continues to grow year-to-year, it becomes increasingly difficult to navigate through the sea of Black Hat badges and activities.  A pre-scheduled meeting can quickly turn into a 30-minute manhunt in Mandalay Bay, exchanging a slew of emails back and forth with your contact only to find out that they’re unable to make the meeting after all.  Finding colleagues, prospects or an inexpensive place to grab lunch is just like finding a needle in a haystack…. a threat in a mass of false positives…. or the ThreatQuotient rhino, Waldo edition.

This year, the ThreatQuotient team decided to accept the crowds for what they are and have a little fun with it.   While at Black Hat, spot our ThreatQuotient rhino sporting the prominent Waldo shirt and hat, snap a picture with him, post to Twitter with the #WheresTQRhino and #BHUSA hashtags, and tag @ThreatQuotient to be entered to win a Star Wars™ Imperial Walker LEGO® Set.

To help you with #WheresTQRhino, check out where the ThreatQuotient crash will be throughout the conference:

  • See the latest updates to our threat intelligence platform, ThreatQ and the industry’s first cyber situation room, ThreatQ Investigations in our suite at the Four Seasons.
  • Join us for a drink at the Security Leaders’ VIP Party on Wednesday night at Eye Candy Sound Lounge.  Register beforehand to secure your spot!
  • “Evolve your Security Operations” by stopping by our demo station at the McAfee booth, #812.
  • Understand the power of DNS and threat intelligence by joining our special presentation with FarSight Security.

Join the #WheresTQRhino challenge & keep your eyes peeled. May the force be with you.
