October is here, and this means it is Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM). Technology continues to advance at lightning speed, so protecting your digital life has never been more critical.

These blogs will walk you through the four CSAM themes designed to help you strengthen your defenses, protect your identity, and keep your family, friends and colleagues safe online.

Week 1: The Power of Strong Passwords and Password Managers
Your password is often the first—and sometimes only—barrier between you and a cybercriminal. But are your passwords strong enough? In Week 1, we’ll dive into the art of creating unique, complex passwords and highlight the benefits of using a password manager to keep them organized. Strong passwords are the foundation of your digital security.

Week 2: Strengthening Cybersecurity with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
A password alone is no longer enough. Week 2 focuses on multi-factor authentication (MFA)—an essential extra layer of protection that requires more than just your login credentials. We’ll show you how to enable MFA and why it’s one of the simplest yet most effective ways to keep your accounts secure.

Week 3: Don’t Take the Bait—Spot and Report Phishing Attempts
Phishing remains one of the most common cyber threats. Week 3 will help you sharpen your skills in recognizing suspicious emails, texts, and calls that aim to trick you into giving away personal information. We’ll also share how to report phishing attempts so you can help protect yourself—and others—from online scams.

Week 4: Stay Protected with Regular Software Updates
The final week of CSAM highlights a simple but often overlooked defense: software updates. Outdated software can leave the door wide open for hackers. We’ll explain why keeping your apps, devices, and operating systems updated is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay safe.

Building Lasting Cyber Habits
Throughout October, our goal is to give you practical knowledge and actionable steps to strengthen your cybersecurity habits. The digital world is full of opportunity, but also risk. By following these weekly themes, you’ll be better prepared to navigate it securely.

Let’s make October the month you commit to stronger cybersecurity—for yourself, your family, and your organization.
