“ThreatQuotient’s love for the rhino can be felt in all aspects of our culture and company branding. Our commitment to rhino conservation is an integral part of our organization. World Rhino Day is an opportunity to step outside of our day to day business in cybersecurity, and rally around an issue that is important to our team,” said John Czupak, CEO of ThreatQuotient.
For five consecutive years, ThreatQuotient has proudly embraced World Rhino Day on September 22nd as an opportunity to spotlight the extraordinary efforts of Helping Rhinos in safeguarding rhinoceros populations within their natural habitats. Today, we are thrilled to share the latest updates on this vital mission, the ongoing initiatives to support rhinos, and fresh ways for you to get involved with Helping Rhinos.
Over the past 50 million years, rhinoceroses have graced our planet with their presence. However, due to rampant poaching and habitat destruction, their population has plummeted from 500,000 at the dawn of the 20th century to around merely 27,000 today. In our commitment to helping these majestic creatures, ThreatQuotient has taken a bold step by adopting four rhinos through our partnership with Helping Rhinos.
This year Helping Rhinos is celebrating their 10 year mark. Most recently, as a part of their efforts within local communities across South Africa, Helping Rhinos has provided funding for the construction of the Speakman School in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The establishment of the Speakman School represents a pivotal step towards nurturing a new generation committed to safeguarding both their land and the wildlife inhabiting it.
Helping Rhinos has made significant strides in advancing their mission, and we are delighted to share three noteworthy highlights:
While we often discuss the urgency of saving rhinos from poachers, it is equally crucial to address the escalating threat of habitat loss. South Africa, the homeland of 80% of Africa’s rhino population, faces a forecasted 20 million increase in its human population by 2075. This surge puts unprecedented pressure on the wild spaces that rhinos and other wildlife rely on for their survival. Whether your interests lie in rhinos, environmental conservation, research, political advocacy, education, or community outreach, there are countless avenues for you to contribute and join us in celebrating World Rhino Day.
ThreatQuotient remains steadfast in its commitment to Helping Rhinos and the protection of these magnificent creatures. Together, we can ensure a future where rhinoceros populations thrive in harmony with the natural world, preserving a legacy that has graced our planet for millions of years.
